Eddy is nominated for Dealer of the Year

AUSTINTOWN

Chuck Eddy, of Bob and Chuck Eddy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Austintown, has been nominated for the 2014 Time Dealer of the Year award.

According to the Automobile Dealers Association of Eastern Ohio, which announced the news Friday, the award is sponsored by Time magazine and “is one of the auto industry’s most prestigious and highly coveted honors.”

Recipients, the ADAEO said, “are among the nation’s most successful auto dealers who must demonstrate a long-standing commitment to community service.”

Eddy is one of a select group of dealers nominated from across the country who will be honored at the National Automobile Dealers Association convention in New Orleans on Jan. 25.

Downtown alliance plans meeting

YOUNGSTOWN

Downtown Business Alliance of Youngstown will have a public membership meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the 17th-floor board room at First National Bank Tower, 11 Central Square.

As a component of Youngstown CityScape, DBAY is a collaborative forum of stakeholders in the downtown business district who, as business owners, executives and leaders of nonprofit organizations, desire to improve the image and economic vitality of downtown.

Key objectives include the creation of a safe, attractive environment that will aid in business retention and attraction and facilitating productive communications between stakeholders and city government.
