Car crashes on Gypsy and Goleta as occupants flee police

Police are looking for the occupants of a car which crashed after an officer tried to pull it over just before 3 p.m. Saturday.

A dispatcher at the Trumbull County 911 Center said the officer tried to pull the car over for a traffic violation at Goleta Avenue and Gypsy Lane and the car did not stop. Instead it traveled about a block, hit a pole and a fire hydrant and the people inside ran away.

The dispatcher did not know how many people were in the car or if police managed to catch them.
