Mississippi State 28, Kentucky 22
STARKVILLE, MISS.
Dak Prescott threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns and also caught a 17-yard touchdown pass to lead Mississippi State past Kentucky. Prescott completed a career-high 23 of 34 passes and also rushed for 33 yards. Jameon Lewis had a 19-yard touchdown run, caught a 17-yard scoring pass and also threw the 17-yard touchdown to Prescott on a trick play. Mississippi State (4-3, 1-2 Southeastern Conference) beat Kentucky (1-6, 0-4) for a fifth straight season. It’s the second time this season Lewis has had rushing, receiving and passing touchdowns in a game. Kentucky’s Joe Mansour made a 44-yard field goal with 8:15 remaining to pull the Wildcats to 28-22, but the Wildcats could get no closer. Kentucky’s final drive was stopped at Mississippi State’s 29 when Maxwell Smith’s fourth- down pass fell incomplete.
Louisiana-Lafayette 23, Arkansas State 7
JONESBORO, ARK.
Alonzo Harris rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns, and Louisiana-Lafayette won its fifth consecutive game. Harris had a 3-yard TD run in each of the first two quarters as the Ragin’ Cajuns (5-2, 3-0 Sun Belt) jumped to a 20-7 halftime lead. Elijah McGuire had 10 carries for 110 yards for Louisiana-Lafayette, which finished with 265 yards on the ground and outgained Arkansas State 470-168 overall. Stephen Brauchle kicked three field goals. Adam Kennedy had a 3-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, but that was it for Arkansas State (3-4, 1-1). The Red Wolves had 10 first downs and held the ball for 17 minutes, 42 seconds, compared to 26 first downs and 42:18 in time of possession for the Cajuns.
