Kroger hiring 1,200 in SW Ohio

CINCINNATI (AP) — Kroger is hiring about 1,200 new workers in southwestern Ohio.

The Dayton Daily News reports that the new jobs will be at the supermarket chain’s stores in the Dayton, Springfield and Cincinnati areas.

The Cincinnati division of Kroger said Thursday it will hold several career fairs during the next few weeks to recruit the new employees, which are needed for all departments and shifts.

Those who want to attend the job fair need to apply online at www.kroger.com/company—information/careers/Pages/store—opportunities.aspx . An appointment will then be scheduled.

In September Cincinnati-based Kroger reported that its second-quarter profit climbed as it booked lower charges and tried to build shopper loyalty with improved offerings.
