YOUNGSTOWN

The annual Zombie Crawl in downtown pubs and restaurants will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Registration ($3) will begin at 2 p.m. at B&O Station, 530 Mahoning Ave. Makeup artists will be present.

In the crawl, hundreds of participants dressed as zombies shamble across the Mahoning Avenue Bridge and walk down the sidewalks of West Federal Street to Central Square. Fifteen downtown area establishments will offer drink and food specials to participants, and the trolley will run from 7 p.m. to midnight. Thrill the World Youngstown will perform Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” dance on Central Square at 6:30 and 7 p.m.

Before the crawl, the Mahoning Valley Historical Society will offer guided walking tours of nearby Oak Hill Cemetery from 3 to 5 p.m.

A welcome table will be located at the cemetery entrance at 344 Oak Hill Ave. Zombie tour guides will lead visitors to several locations in the cemetery, providing history, images and some ghostly tales.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled. Go to mahoninghistory.org or call the MVHS at 330-743-2589 for details and updates.
