Warren police: Dash-cam video from another officer's car shows Taemarr Walker was armed
WARREN — The dash-cam video of Sgt. Bryan Holmes, the first officer to arrive on Risher Road early Saturday after Patrolman Michael Krafcik shot and killed Taemarr Walker, indicates Walker had a handgun in his hand at the time he was killed.
It also indicates that a tow-truck driver was at the scene throughout incident and told Holmes that Krafcik “gave [Walker] every warning” before firing the fatal gunshots.
The tow-truck driver was seen on the video moments after Holmes arrived helping Holmes escort a handcuffed woman from Walker’s vehicle to the back of Krafcik’s police car.
The woman, believed to be Walker’s girlfriend wailed, “Please don’t kill me” over and over as she was led away from the shooting scene.
Holmes can be heard telling his officer in charge, Lt. Jeff Cole, on the telephone that when he arrived at the scene, Walker still had a Ruger handgun in his hand and that he took the gun out of Walker’s hand and placed it elsewhere in the car and that an ambulance worker had found no pulse on Walker.
