Staff report

YOUNGSTOWN

Rust Belt Theater Company will host a Masquerade Ball at B&O Station, 530 Mahoning Ave., from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday.

The evening will feature performances by The Tribe of EOS, hip-hop artist Baker, the cast of “Living Dead: The Musical” and more.

Headlining the evening will be Sleep Projections, a psychedelic dream-pop band comprised of Jesse Martin, Bernadette Lim, Jake Sabeh and Murad Ghazi Shorrab.

“After two years of hosting the Zombie Prom at the Calvin Center, we decided it was time to shake things up a bit,” said Robert Dennick Joki, Rust Belt Theater director. “We have combined forces with our friends over at the B&O to create an event that not only celebrates the harvest season, but also features local music, food and artwork.”

Zombie Crawl participants are welcome and encouraged to attend, he said.

Admission is $3 at the door. Guests under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

There will be a $100 cash prize for the best costume of the evening, as well as Halloween trivia, contests and theater ticket giveaways.

“You don’t have to wear a mask,” said Joki. “Any costume will do. And if you don’t have a costume, we can help you with that, too.”

Local artisans from Medusa’s Adornments and Arcana, Ginger Blossoms and Designs by Robert Dennick Joki will be on hand, selling jewelry, masks and other handmade masquerade accessories.

Palm readings by Bradley Barefoot, special-effects make-up by GD Effects and a masquerade photo booth will be available. There also will be a fully stocked bar and food vendors, including homemade gourmet cheesecake by Buffcakes.

The event will be emceed by DJ Dr. Goo and hosted by a throng of masked revelers from the Rust Belt Theater Company.
