Howland assembly to focus on school levy

HOWLAND

Howland schools will host an assembly of key communicators at 7 p.m. Monday in Howland High School, 200 Shaffer Drive NE.

The assembly’s focus is to share the spending plan for the money generated by the passage of the Nov. 5 levy with voters. The public is invited.

School officials are pledging that the money from the levy will be used to strengthen education and learning and to allow the district to make progress in providing students with up-to-date technology, textbooks and security and safety upgrades.

The levy will cost the owner of a $100,000 home $136.50 per year.

The funds will allow for all-day, every-day kindergarten. The district will aim to retain teachers and stop student fee increases.
