A northeast Ohio man has pleaded guilty to aggravated murder in the fatal shooting of a McDonald’s worker who was taking out the night’s trash.

The Summit County prosecutor says 21-year-old Johnnl Lewis of Akron was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison on his guilty plea to aggravated murder, aggravated robbery and other charges.

Lewis pleaded guilty as his trial was about to begin in the April death of 28-year-old John Lehman of Akron. According to the Akron Beacon Journal, Lewis tearfully apologized to the victim’s relatives in court.
