Boardman police arrest woman on child-endangering, theft charges

BOARDMAN — Township police arrested a Poland mother Wednesday on theft and child-endangering charges.

Jenna Nair, 26, of Hamilton Avenue, is accused of stealing clothing from Old Navy store while her 3-year-old son was with her. Employees told police they observed Nair enter the fitting room with multiple pieces of clothing in a stroller with her son.

After she left the store, the employees discovered all the items Nair took with her in the fitting room were missing.

Police found Nair in the parking lot outside of Old Navy after employees pointed her out. Nair admitted to taking three items, but said multiple other pieces of clothing in her vehicle were not stolen, according to a police report.

Nair is charged with two first-degree misdemeanors. Her arraignment on the charges is at 5:30 p.m. today in Mahoning County Area Court here.
