LEAVITTSBURG

The Youngstown Magic Club will present its annual Night of Comedy & Magic, featuring Dave Kaplan and Dave Chandler, Saturday at the LaBrae High School Auditorium, 1001 N. Leavitt Road.

The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with close-up magic performed by members of the Youngstown Magic Club. The stage show will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15, which includes a chance to win one of several prize gift baskets that will be given away during intermission. Call 330-883-0513 or 330-307-4928. The show is recommended for age 13 and older.

Kaplan blends illusion, music, juggling and deadpan comedy in a vaudevillesque spectacle.

He invites the audience into the show, whether he’s juggling beanbag chairs, playing a melody on balloons or accidentally levitating a bowling ball.

He has appeared with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, on ABC’s “The View” and TNN’s “The Statler Brothers Show.”

Chandler is among a relatively small group of entertainers trained at the Chavez College of Manual Dexterity and Prestidigitation, the only accredited school of magical arts in the United States.
