Ohio law professor sues over alleged harassment
CLEVELAND (AP) — A professor at Cleveland’s Case Western Reserve University has sued the law school dean claiming retaliation for reporting alleged sexual harassment by his boss.
The lawsuit was filed today in Cleveland by law professor Raymond Ku against Dean Lawrence Mitchell and the private university.
The lawsuit asks for an end to the alleged retaliation and unspecified monetary damages.
The suit says the professor complained about alleged inappropriate touching and comments involving women. It also claims the dean questioned the professor about circumcision as the professor prepared to convert to Judaism.
The lawsuit says the dean retaliated by threatening dismissal, trimming his duties and saying the professor shouldn’t continue as associate dean.
Campus spokesman Bill Lubinger says the university is reviewing the lawsuit but doesn’t have a response at this time.
