Mahoning County health board approves $5.9M 2014 budget

AUSTINTOWN — The Mahoning County District Board of Health today approved a 2014 budget of $5.9 million, which is slightly higher than the department’s 2013 budget of $5.8 million.

Estimated revenue for 2014 is $5,509,942, said Ed Janik, director of finance and human resources.

Janik said both the budgeted expenditures and estimated revenues are conservative.

Traditionally, he said, actual expenditures will be less than budgeted and revenues will be higher.
