YOUNGSTOWN

An auction to sell nearly all the assets of D&L Energy has been scheduled for Nov. 13.

A notice filed in federal bankruptcy court in Youngstown says the auction will take place at 10 a.m. at Squire Sanders in Cleveland.

D&L filed for bankruptcy in April after it was ordered by state regulators to cease most of its operations.

The order was issued after a Jan. 31 incident in which in an employee was found to be dumping oil- field waste down a storm drain at the company’s headquarters.

Diner grand opening

Oldies & Goodies diner, in the former Park Diner at 1035 Boardman-Poland Road, will have its grand opening Thursday. The diner will offer one free meal to visitors from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Coalition president

The Marcellus Shale Coalition chose its second president to represent the high-profile group of companies that are active in Pennsylvania’s booming natural-gas industry.

David Spigelmyer, a former Chesapeake Energy executive and Marcellus Shale Coalition chairman, was tapped by the executive board of the approximately 300-member coalition, the group said Monday.

The coalition formed in 2008 as interest began spreading in the Marcellus Shale, which lies deep underneath parts of Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and New York and is thought by geologists to be the nation’s largest-known natural-gas reservoir. The group includes Chevron, Shell and Range Resources.

Pharmacy purchase

YOUNGSTOWN

Hometown Pharmacy Solutions of Youngstown announced Monday that it has acquired Dierken’s Pharmacy in Monongahela, Pa.

Dierken’s, just south of Pittsburgh, becomes Hometown’s 10th retail store in the company’s nearly 12-year history.

Hometown Pharmacy operates pharmacies throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania including locations in Brookfield, Boardman, Columbiana, Girard, New Castle, Pa., and Grove City, Pa.
