Michele Lepore-Hagan to seek 58th District seat
YOUNGSTOWN
With state Rep. Robert F. Hagan unable to run for re-election next year because of term limits, his wife, Michele Lepore-Hagan, will file shortly to succeed him.
Hagan of Youngstown, D-58th, told The Vindicator two months ago that his wife was “seriously considering” a bid to replace him. Hagan announced today that he is filing her designation of treasurer paperwork and she’d have a formal announcement after the Nov. 5 election.
Also, Rachel Hanni, an outgoing Youngstown school board member, said she’s “strongly considering” a run for the seat next year.
Youngstown Councilwoman Janet Tarpley, D-6th, and Michael E. O’Hara of Youngstown have previously announced plans to run.
Youngstown Councilman Mike Ray, D-4th, and Cynthia McWilson of Youngstown are also pondering runs for the job.
