A man charged with stabbing a man with a screwdriver in May and biting him entered guilty pleas Tuesday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

James Kennedy, 27, entered an Alford Plea before Judge Lou D’Apolito to second degree felony charges of felonious assault and burglary and a misdemeanor count of domestic violence.

He will be sentenced after a presentence investigation is completed.

An Alford Plea is where a defendant maintains innocence but admits that if the case goes to trial, there is enough evidence for a jury to convict.

Reports say Kennedy broke into a Willis Avenue home late May 24 and stabbed a man several times with a screwdriver and bit him on the finger.

The man was inside the home of the mother of his child, reports said.
