Folks stuck for hours on historic Blue Streak roller coaster at Conneaut Lake Park

CONNEAUT LAKE, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a car on a historic roller coaster got stuck on the top of a hill at a northwestern Pennsylvania amusement park, and emergency crews led 20 riders down a narrow catwalk in wet weather.

The Meadville Tribune reports that the Blue Streak at Conneaut Lake Park malfunctioned Saturday night when a safety brake locked the car in place.

Summit Township volunteer fire Chief Gig King says crews put a safety harness on each rider and led them down a narrow 50-foot catwalk one at a time. That took about four hours. Nobody was hurt.

The roller coaster will be inspected and repaired, and officials at the park about 90 miles north of Pittsburgh hope to have it operating by Friday, the next time the park is open.
