SENIOR SIDELIGHTS
Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer guardianship program of Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers. The next monthly meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 6 at Perkins Family Restaurant, 1953 Niles Cortland Road SE. Angels reach out in friendship to people who are elderly and alone in Trumbull County by providing trained, qualified volunteers to serve as advocates. Angels also are involved in planning special events for seniors, such as health fairs and Make a Difference Day projects. Senior Independence Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following: Monday, needlecraft at 10 a.m. and bridge and Zumba at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, arts and crafts at 10 a.m. and beginner and intermediate bridge at noon; Wednesday, watercolors at 10 a.m., tap class at noon, 500 card club at 1 p.m. and line dancing at 1:30; Thursday, Watch Our Weight and woodcarvers at 9 a.m., Boardman Fun Day at 10, computer classes at 10 and noon, exercise at noon and advanced computer at 2 p.m.; and Friday, Wii bowling and Youngstown Fun Day at 10 a.m., band at noon, card and board games at 1 p.m. and cornhole at 2.
