Authorities say the human remains found last week in Cleveland during a renewed missing person search are those of a woman who was pregnant and 18 when she disappeared in 1995.
The Cuyahoga County medical examiner’s office confirmed Friday that the remains belong to Christina Adkins. She vanished in January 1995.
Prosecutors have said they believe a Cleveland man is linked to her disappearance.
Elias Acevedo, 49, faces aggravated murder, rape and kidnapping charges in the death of Pamela Pemberton in October 1994, and of another woman in 1995.
