The Catholic Diocese of Youngstown announces the fifth annual lecture of the Bishop Benedict C. Franzetta Memorial Lecture Series at 6 p.m. Nov. 5 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel social hall, 343 Via Mount Carmel. The series, established by Bishop George V. Murry in 2009, is designed to further the mission of evangelization.

Richard Jusseaume, president of Walsh University, will speak on “Higher Catholic Education.”

Bishop Franzetta served as auxiliary bishop of Youngstown from Sept. 4, 1980, until his retirement on Sept. 4, 1996. He died Sept. 26, 2006, at 85.

Supporters of the series are welcome to become sustaining patrons, friends or sponsors.

Labyrinth walk

VILLA MARIA, PA.

Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will conduct the last guided labyrinth walk of the season from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Villa Maria Community Center.

The theme is “Path of Gratefulness.”

Sister Therese Pavilonis will offer a brief history and introduction. No registration is required but is appreciated. Free-will offerings will be accepted.

Harvest song fest

The music ministry of the Shiloh Baptist Church, 238 Bright Ave., will present the 15th annual Harvest Time Songfest at 4 p.m. Oct. 27 with choirs, soloists and family groups from the area.
