23 catalytic converters stolen in Warren

WARREN

The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of 23 catalytic converters valued at about $20,000 from vehicles kept at a storage area used by county agencies at 605 Panther Drive next to Warren G. Harding High School.

The area also is used by the county’s vehicle maintenance department.

An investigator with the county fire investigative unit first discovered the theft of a catalytic converter on a vehicle the unit stores at the site. Further investigation Oct. 12 revealed the theft of 22 others.

Twelve of the catalytic converters were on Ford buses formerly used by the county’s Office of Elderly Affairs. Other vehicles were pickup trucks and vans.
