Emily E. Pyles, 25, of Winchester Avenue in Youngstown, was arraigned in Warren Municipal Court Thursday on a felonious assault charge after police say she stabbed her boyfriend in the chest with a kitchen knife.

Police said Timothy A. Brown II, 29, of Lodwick Drive NW, went to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital with a stab wound in the 11:37 p.m. Wednesday incident.

Brown said he and Pyles were arguing when an unknown female called his cell phone, causing a further argument and causing Emily to stab him with a knife from the butcher block.

Brown said he pushed her away from him and called 911, at which point Pyles took blood from his chest and smeared it on her face and arms to appear to be a victim.

Police found Pyles at another nearby apartment and placed her under arrest. The knife was found on kitchen counter.

She is being held in the Trumbull County jail in lieu of $25,000 bond. An innocent plea was entered for her.
