A Youngstown man turned himself in Tuesday to Boardman police in connection with a drive-by shooting earlier this month.

Maurice Hasley, 24, is accused of shooting at a home on Pierce Drive on Oct. 1.

Shantae Moore, 28, of Youngstown, also was arrested at the beginning of October in connection with the incident.

Residents involved in the drive-by shooting told police they received a phone call from Hasley minutes beforehand. Hasley is accused of telling them “to get your family down because I am coming for your house now,” according to a police report.

Before the shooting on Pierce Drive, police responded to a Shields Road residence Oct. 1 for a man threatening someone else with a gun. That man is identified as Hasley, and the victim is also the person targeted in the drive-by shooting. At the time, the victim told police Hasley did pull a gun on him while they were having an argument, but he did not wish to press charges at the time.

Moore is charged with improperly discharging a firearm and has a preliminary hearing at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 19.

Hasley is charged with aggravated menacing, being a felon in possession of a gun, and improperly discharging a firearm at a residence.
