Man escapes fire at his East Side home

YOUNGSTOWN — A man escaped a fire at his 21 S. Bruce St. home on the East Side just before noon today.

Crews are still on the scene digging fire out of the walls.

The homeowner did not want to give his name but said he thought one of his dogs knocked over a fireplace poker to start the fire.
