Little Falcons participate in playoffs

The 100 pound Austintown Little Falcons toppled the Canfield Little Cardinals 40-0 on Oct. 13 at Struthers Wildcat Stadium in the Y.A.C. League playoff game.

Terrance Pankey led the attack with three touchdowns plus a conversion score, while Cameron Smith scored two touchdowns and two conversions. Sammy Savo and Reuben Traylor Jr. chipped in with a conversion score each to complete the scoring. Angelo Sauceman, Emmanuel Ellinos, Donovan Hileman, Aiden St. Clair and Kyle Mosser played well on defense to help shut out the Cardinals.

The 120 pound Little Falcons were eliminated from the playoffs by the Boardman Little Spartans with a score of 42-0 at Howland Middle School field.

“All of the kids played hard and they all deserve recognition.” said Coach Antonio Page.

Players on the 120 team included C.J. Schisler, Todd Simons, Nolan Barwick, Matthew Scannell, Myles Pasley, Peyton Quarles, John Edmonds, Justin Mosser, Clayton Marcum, Ja ‘ Reion Young, Anthony Blott, Dedric Dixon, A.J. Bedock, Erik Bedock, Lucas Davis, Colin Carver, Dominic Hileman, Anthony Sandy, Logan Pugh and Michael Tul.

The 140 pound team claimed victory over the Hickory Little Hornets 20-6 at Fitch Falcon Stadium.

Drew Bretsik ran for two touchdowns and Christopher Scott scored one to lead the Falcon offense. Bryson Gay tossed a pass to Christian Davis, good for a conversion tally to cap the Falcon scoring. Daniel Ifft, Richard Edwards, Daniel Schmitt Jr., Brett Wilson, Justin Stainfield and David Gunger all played stand out football as the Falcons advanced to the Y.A.C. League Semi Finals on Oct. 20 at Canfield High School Stadium. The Falcons will take on the Austintown Colts with a Super Bowl birth on the line.

The 100 pound Austintown Little Falcons defeated the Boardman Little Spartans 12-0 on in the J.V. Semi Final Game on Oct. 14 at Boardman. With the victory, the Falcons will advance to the 100 pound J.V. Super Bowl, to be played on Oct. 21.

John Cambert and Davion Pritchard each scored on 50-yard touchdown runs to lead the Falcon attack. Noah Thomas, Jordan Moore, Jacob Foley, Braeden Bell, Joshua Sawyers, Larry Simpson and Javon Rouan all played well on defense to help preserve the victory.
