Woman pleads guilty to DUI in March


YOUNGSTOWN — A woman who had split a telephone pole and hit two parked cars in a used car lot at McGuffey Road and Wick Avenue on March 21 pleaded guilty to a first offense charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence in Youngstown Municipal Court today.

Monica Durkin, 47, of Youngstown, was sentenced to three days in jail, but she can attend a driver’s intervention program and was also given a six-month license suspension retroactive to the date of the accident. She must also pay fines and court costs.

When firefighters and paramedics arrived, her SUV was on its side and she had to be cut out of the SUV. No one was seriously injured.
