Charges in fatal alleged home invasion

ERIE, Pa. (AP) — A man has been charged in what authorities believe to have been an attempted home invasion that claimed the life of another suspect.

Twenty-six-year-old Chahon Gilmore of Erie is charged in Erie County with multiple counts of robbery, conspiracy, burglary, and multiple terroristic threats and reckless endangering counts.

The Erie Times-News says police allege that he was one of two masked men who kicked in the front door of the Erie apartment on Monday night.

Eighteen-year-old Devonte Duck of Erie was shot three times by a resident of the unit and was pronounced dead soon afterward at UPMC Hamot.

Gilmore, who was shot in the head and hip, remains in stable condition at the same hospital.
