2 Toledo cops quit over off-duty dispute

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Police in Toledo say two officers have resigned while they were being investigated for their roles in an off-duty dispute.

A police official says a third officer has been relieved of duty with pay while an internal investigation continues.

Authorities say the two officers who resigned this week were involved in the dispute at a downtown apartment building.

The Blade newspaper in Toledo reports that authorities say they received a call that a woman was firing a gun and trying to harm herself early Saturday.

A police report says the pair had a disagreement, and that the woman fired a gun into the floor.

Police say they are not aware of any criminal investigation.
