YSU's Perry voted Horizon League preseason player of the year


Senior guard Kendrick Perry has been tabbed the 2013-14 Horizon

League Men's Basketball Preseason Player of the Year, and Youngstown State has been

predicted to finish fifth in a vote by the league's head coaches, sports information

directors and selected media, the league announced at its annual media day at The

Hotel Intercontinental.

Along with Perry, who was named to the preseason All-Horizon League First-Team,

senior Kamren Belin was named to the preseason All-Horizon League Second-Team.

A two-time All-Horizon League First-Team selection, Perry ranked second in the

league in scoring last season with 17.3 points per game. He also tied for the league

lead with 1.9 steals per game, ranked fifth with a .845 free-throw percentage,

sixth with 4.1 assists per game, and 10th with 5.5 rebounds per game.
