Lowellville teachers get safety training on Friday

LOWELLVILLE

In an attempt to help prepare for a violent intruder, the school district’s teachers will take part in ALICE training from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday. The ALICE training -- which stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate -- will occur at Lowellville High School, 52 Rocket Place.

Police Chief Ryan Bonacci added that a live-action scenario, likely involving an active shooter, is being planned for sometime in the near future.
