Zeboney S. Owens, 27, of Phillips Drive Southwest, is in Trumbull County jail in lieu of $75,000 bond after her arrest Monday night in the stabbing of her 41-year-old live-in boyfriend.

She appeared Tuesday on the felonious-assault charge in Warren Municipal Court.

The man told police Owens stabbed him with a kitchen knife, which police said was about 8 inches long. He was taken to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital for injuries suffered in the 9:30 p.m. incident.

Police arrested Owens after learning of the victim’s injuries. Police recovered a knife from the residence.

Beating suspect sought

WARREN

Police continue looking for a suspect or suspects that beat and robbed a 27-year-old Mineral Ridge man, who suffered a severe head cut and other injuries this weekend while riding his bicycle on the Warren bike trail.

The man called 911 at 5:11 p.m. Saturday from the area of Woodland and Railroad avenues Northeast, near the location of the assault. When police arrived, they found the man with a severe cut to his head, and a swollen cheek.

Police searched the area but did not find the bicycle or the suspects. The man was taken to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The man said he was riding his 26-inch Schwinn Frontier mountain bike valued at $350 near Charles Street Northeast when two men threw rocks at him.

The next thing he remembers, he was lying on the ground.

His glasses were knocked off, so he didn’t get a good look at the assailants, he told police.

Fuel spill on U.S. 422

SOUTHINGTON

A one-vehicle tractor-trailer accident Tuesday morning on U.S. Route 422 injured the driver and a passenger, and closed the left lanes in each direction for 31/2 hours.

The accident occurred at 6:28 a.m. in the westbound lane near state Route 534 when the driver, Brian Edwards, 48, of Girard, drove off the left side of the road and into the median, hit a ditch and a signpost before the trailer overturned, spilling its load of rocks into the eastbound lanes of Route 422.

The truck’s fuel tank ruptured, spilling about 65 gallons of diesel fuel, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said. The Ohio Department of Transportation, Trumbull County HazMat team and Southington Fire Department responded for cleanup.

Edwards and a passenger, Tammy Guyette, 46, of Vienna, were taken to St. Joseph Health Center with minor injuries. Edwards was cited for failure to control and a seat-belt violation.
