Former Walmart employee charged with theft from store
A former Austintown Walmart employee faces theft charges, accused of stealing from the business.
An investigation at the store indicated that Keith Hawkins, 34, of Youngstown stole $100, according to a police report.
Hawkins allegedly used cashier receipts and claimed they were for merchandise returns, except he was allegedly pocketing the money from the register, according to police.
He was fired from Walmart and issued a summons charging him with theft, according to officials. He will be arraigned at 6 p.m. Oct. 21 in Austintown court on the petty theft charge.
