Keith Wenning threw a game-winning touchdown to Willie Snead late in the fourth quarter to help Ball State prevail. Trailing 24-20, the Cardinals (6-1, 3-0 MAC) drove down the field twice toward the end of the game. After failing to convert a fourth-and-six on the previous drive, the Cardinals faced another fourth down deep in the redzone, but converted it as Wenning found Snead again for a 7-yard go-ahead score with 1:29 remaining. The Golden Flashes (2-5, 1-3) drove to midfield, but were stopped on a fourth-and-15. Wenning went 23-of-46 for 305 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions. Snead finished with 152 yards receiving on 10 catches. Kent State’s Colin Reardon (Poland) had 166 yards passing and two touchdowns, but left the game with an apparent left ankle injury.
No. 23 Northern Illinois 27, Akron 20.

Jordan Lynch threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as Northern Illinois extended its home winning streak to 23 games. Lynch was 16 of 35 for 220 yards passing and ran for 83 more. Cameron Stingily rushed 21 times for 80 yards and a touchdown and Tyler Wedel added field goals of 42 and 21 yards for the Huskies (6-0, 2-0 MAC East). Jawan Chisholm scored on a pair of 1-yard first half runs for Akron (1-6, 0-3) and ran 20 times for 70 yards. Kyle Pohl was 24 of 56 for 262 yards. The home winning streak is the nation’s current longest. A 34-31 loss to Idaho on Sept 26, 2009 was Northern Illinois’ more recent defeat at Huskie Stadium. Akron’s road loss was its 30th straight, also the nation’s longest current streak. The Zips’ beat Central Michigan 42-35 on Oct. 18, 2008 for its last road win.
Central Michigan 26, Ohio 23

Cooper Rush’s third touchdown pass, a 5-yarder to Courtney Williams with 22 seconds remaining, lifted Central Michigan. Ryan Boykin had given Ohio a 23-19 lead on a 1-yard run with 4:42 left. CMU (3-4, 2-1 MAC) failed to get a first down and punted. However, the punt was fumbled and recovered by Joe Bacci, setting up the Chippewas at the Ohio 39 for the winning drive. CMU, led by Rush and Saylor Lavallii, who had 184 yards rushing on 26 carries plus a receiving touchdown, snapped the Bobcats’ four-game winning streak. Rush was 20-of-28 passing for 224 yards and an interception. The Bobcats (4-2, 1-1) were hurt by four turnovers. Tyler Tettleton was 24-of-33 passing for 319 yards.

Terry Baggett ran for four touchdowns — including a 96-yard score — and a school record 304 yards, the highest mark in Division I this season, as Army came back to beat Eastern Michigan for the fifth time in six games.

A.J. Doyle fired a 47-yard, third quarter touchdown pass to Rob Blanchflower to lift UMass to its first win. Doyle was 19 of 35 for 249 yards and two touchdowns for UMass (1-5, 1-1 MAC).
