The Youngstown State football team leads Illinois State 38-14 at halftime of Saturday's game at Stambaugh Stadium.

Penguins QB Kurt Hess has completed 14 of 18 passes for 251 yards and four TDs in the first half for YSU (5-1, 2-0 MVFC), which has scored on its first six possessions.
