Man gets 19 years in city shooting


YOUNGSTOWN — Judge R. Scott Krichbaum sentenced Derrick Howard Ross to 19 years in prison today for the charges of felonious assault and discharging a firearm into a habitation with a firearm specification.

The 28-year-old man was convicted by a jury on the charges Wednesday following a short trial in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Howard Ross was convicted of shooting into a Rutledge Drive home Dec. 10 and wounding a man twice.
