BGMS wins fourth game

Boardman Glenwood’s football team improved its record to 4-2 with a 22-0 shutout victory over West Branch. Antonio Page led the offense with three touchdown runs, the longest 20-yard run to put the game away after a 7-0 drive to start the second half. DeCosta Baptiste and JaJuan Forte added two-point conversions in the winning effort.

The BGMS defense forced four Warrior turnovers, led by interceptions from Holden Lipke and Baptiste. Fumble recoveries by Jacob Mahood and John Fleet helped preserve the shutout.

Girls soccer dominates Canton McKinley

The Boardman High School girls soccer team defeated Canton McKinley, 16-0 on Oct. 2.

Top players for Boardman were Alison Green with four goals and one assist; Nikki Hillard with three goals and three assists and Jenna Kuczek with a goal and two assists.

Other players contributing to Boardman’s success were Bryana Flak with a goal, Alexis Cailor with a goal and one assist, Sara Downie with a goal and three assists, Alexis Downie with a goal and one assist, Kristen Huck with a goal, Alisa Earvin with a goal and one assist, Anna Saxton with a goal and one assist, Skylar Bryant with a goal and two assists and Payton Bryant with an assist.

The girls are now 9-5-1 on the season.
