Caring Hands Food Ministry will host a benefit spaghetti dinner Saturday at American Legion Post 290, 44403 state Route 14.

The meal will be served from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Music and entertainment will be provided by Gary Barker, a Bret Michaels tribute artist, and karaoke and dancing will be offered until 10 p.m. At dusk, there will be a salute to veterans.

A two-tiered basket auction will include Steelers tickets and a 50-50 raffle will be offered.

The spaghetti dinner with salad, rolls, beverage and dessert and provided entertainment will cost $7 for adults, $3.50 for children 6 and younger, and free for children 3 and younger. All proceeds will benefit the Caring Hands Food Ministry. Pre-sale tickets are available by calling 330-426-3270 or 330-426-9389.

Cemetery cleanup

Girard

Fall cleanup at the Girard City Cemetery has been scheduled through Oct. 25. After Oct. 25, employees will remove any plants on graves in preparation for upcoming holiday wreaths.

City drug arrest

YOUNGSTOWN

A Rome, Ohio, man, was arrested on drug charges after he was found passed out in a car on the South Side about 11:45 a.m. Wednesday with a needle still in his arm.

Paramedics told police when they found 37-year-old Roy Hansen in his car at a home in the 100 block of Willis Avenue he also had a phone charger wrapped around his arm as a tourniquet.

Reports said Hansen told police he had a seizure and passed out, and someone stuck the needle in his arm. He admitted coming from Ashtabula to buy heroin, reports said.

He was taken to a hospital to be examined, and a hold was placed on him on the charge of possession of drugs heroin and he also had a license suspension for failure to pay child support.

Police cited four people after serving a search warrant at a 330 W. Earle Ave. home about 4:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Inside police found small amounts of heroin, crack cocaine and marijuana, drug paraphernalia, $378 cash and a 9mm semiautomatic handgun.

Cited were Frank Queener, 65, possession of heroin; Sharon Queener, no age given, possession of crack; Raymond Queener, 23, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana; and Ryan Bevington, 36, possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cemetery cleanup

The caretaker of St. Stephen Cemetery in Niles has asked that all decorations be removed from graves by Oct. 27 to allow for fall leaf cleanup. Any that remain after that date will be discarded. Decorations may be replaced Nov. 3.
