A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:
POLAND
Oct. 1
Identity theft: A Timberbrooke Trail woman discovered $625 worth of fraudulent activity to her debit-card account.
Drugs: During a traffic stop on U.S. Route 224, police charged 18-year-old Anthony J. Williams of Hamilton Avenue, Poland, with drug possession after saying he had a bag containing 1.6 grams of suspected marijuana.

Oct. 3
Theft: Two people stole fruit from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Criminal damaging: Someone in the 300 block of Tudor Lane used a key to do $500 in damage to a vehicle’s finish.
Theft by deception: Garrett T. McCullough, 32, of Sequoya Drive, Boardman, surrendered on a felony theft-by-deception charge after an Orlo Lane woman told authorities she had paid $3,350 for a new roof only to have neither the work done nor materials delivered.
Identity fraud: An employee with a McClurg Road towing company found out a man had used the accuser’s name to have a phone company disconnect his cellphone.
Theft: Someone stole 104 pieces of lingerie valued at about $5,012 from Victoria’s Secret in Southern Park Mall.
Theft/criminal damaging: Twelve compact discs, a global-positioning-system unit and makeup were removed from a car in the 1300 block of Doral Drive. The vehicle was found with scratches to its paint.
Identity fraud: A Youngstown man in the 6500 block of Glendale Avenue realized his name had been used without consent to open a credit-card account with a $400 line of credit.
Theft: A $500 mountain bike was stolen in the 400 block of Ewing Road.
Harassment: An Ivy Hill Drive man said a woman called asking him two personal questions in an inappropriate manner.
Theft: Two tenants who had been evicted from an apartment in the 1900 block of Wolosyn Circle reportedly failed to return a set of house keys.
Oct. 4
Aggravated menacing: After learning that a call she had received likely was a scam, a Boardman Boulevard woman told police the person called again to threaten her. Also, an officer reported the same person threatened him.
Harassment: A Chestnut Lane woman told police an inmate has made several unwanted calls to her.
Burglary: To an apartment in the 40 block of Auburn Drive via the front door, though nothing appeared to have been disturbed or stolen.
Misuse of a credit card: A Sunset Boulevard woman noticed a $13 unauthorized charge to her credit card.
Theft: An undisclosed sum of money was missing from a South Avenue motel.
Burglary: Occurred in the 5000 block of Aravesta Avenue after someone cut a window screen to the apartment. A $900, 55-inch TV was stolen.
Harassment: A manager of a Boardman-Canfield Road real-estate agency told police a former independent contractor continually makes such calls to the business, including five in a 25-minute time span.
Menacing: A former worker with a South Avenue hair salon reportedly has sent threatening text messages to the business.
Arrest: Police received a complaint regarding an erratic driver near Walker Mill Road before charging 38-year-old Lisa L. DeAngelo of East Western Reserve Road, Poland, with operating a vehicle impaired.
Theft: Three women stole 11 sweaters from Victoria’s Secret.
Theft: A man in his mid-20s took a $725 cellphone from AT&T, 7125 Tiffany Blvd.
Theft: A pair of sunglasses and a 150-piece toolset were removed from a car in the 100 block of Green Bay Drive.
Oct. 5
Theft: Derrick G. McIntosh, 44, of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Youngstown, faced charges of theft, criminal trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia after a home-theater system was stolen from Walmart. Williams was not permitted on the property and was found with a suspected crack-cocaine pipe, police said.
Harassment: A Southern Boulevard woman said her former husband in Lincoln, Neb., has made and sent to her various unwanted calls and text messages, including some on Facebook.
Criminal damaging: Someone intentionally knocked over a trash can and tossed eggs at a side window of a home in the 7500 block of Jaguar Drive.
Theft: Two people stole $200 worth of shampoo and grooming products, along with a $10 children’s chair, from Pure Hair Salon & Spa, 8236 South Ave.
Arrest: Philip M. Bergman, 43, was taken into custody at his Aravesta Avenue apartment on a warrant accusing him of having violated a protection order.
Theft: A man discovered a $235 ring missing from his apartment in the 7000 block of West Boulevard.
Domestic violence: Tedy J. Mendez II of Western Place, Austintown, was charged after his former girlfriend, of Mathews Road, alleged the 23-year-old Mendez had threatened to harm her, including in Facebook messages.
Theft: A CD player, an MP3 player and a CD were taken from a car at Southern Park Mall.
Theft: Georgia M. Morocco, 18, of Humboldt Avenue, Youngstown, and Bryan M. Brady, 19, of McGaffney Avenue, Lowellville, were charged with stealing a cellphone and wiring for a car stereo from Walmart.
Arrest: A traffic stop on Market Street led to 42-year-old Melissa M. Lawson’s arrest on warrants charging theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lawson, of Woodford Avenue, Youngstown, faced an additional charge of obstructing official business, when, police said, she lied about her name and initially refused to step out of her car.
Oct. 6
Theft: Jasmine N. Chatman, 20, of Lyden Avenue, Youngstown, was charged with theft and menacing after a bag of potato chips was stolen from Family Dollar, 4028 South Ave. Chatman also threatened an employee, a report showed.
Felonious assault: John C. Berardi, 61, of Hitchcock Road, Boardman, surrendered on felonious-assault and domestic-violence charges after a woman alleged Berardi had picked her up under her arms during an argument, then slammed the accuser through a glass coffee table. The woman was treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center’s Boardman Campus for serious injuries, a report said.
Theft: A man stole a fountain drink from a Shell True North gas station, 1510 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Assault: A manager with a West Western Reserve Road group home reported a client was punched in the face, resulting in a deep cut, during a gathering.
Citations: During a traffic stop on South Avenue, authorities cited 43-year-old Timothy M. Williams of Washington Boulevard, Boardman, and 46-year-old Lisha M. Roberts of Lowellville Road, Struthers, after saying a suspected crack pipe was found. Williams also was charged with having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
Criminal mischief: Someone without permission moved a patio chair at a home in the 3800 block of Whippoorwill Drive.
Harassment: A Moyer Avenue woman said she received three such calls.
Domestic violence: Michele S. Cappelli, 43, of Roche Way, Boardman, was charged with the crime after her husband alleged that during an argument, Cappelli had punched and kicked him as he drove, nearly causing an accident. During a second attack, she punched and bit him, the accuser told police.
Theft: Callie A. Lattyak, 23, of Saratoga Drive, Hermitage, Pa., was charged in the theft of eight men’s T-shirts valued at $240 from Macy’s in Southern Park Mall.
Oct.7
Burglary: Took place in the 20 block of McArthur Drive, where a Sony PlayStation 2 system and related cartridges were stolen.
Theft: John S. Douglas, 40, of Lenox Avenue, Youngstown, surrendered on a theft charge after an iPad portfolio device and other merchandise was stolen from Walgreens Pharmacy, 7295 Market St.
Misuse of a credit card: A Lockwood Boulevard man reported a woman tried to have credit cards issued to her with his account information.
Aggravated menacing: A worker for Petsmart, 1101 Doral Drive, told authorities a customer threatened to shoot fellow employees and blow up the business after becoming angered about how his dog had been groomed.
Theft: Hair products and detergent were among items stolen from Dollar General, 859 E. Midlothian Blvd.
Theft: Scott E. Gorby, 20, was taken into custody on a warrant charging him. Gorby, of East South Range Road, North Lima, was accused of failing to pay for three days’ worth of lodging at Red Roof Inn, 1051 Tiffany Blvd.
Misuse of a credit card: Shawnta G. Lee, 37, of Willow Drive, Boardman, faced a misdemeanor count of misuse of a credit card after a neighbor alleged that after his wallet had been stolen, Lee used his card to make roughly $43 worth of unauthorized charges.
Vandalism: Someone pulled out a 3-inch steel pipe and damaged a portion of down spouting at a Market Street car-rental business.
Theft: Billie J. Derr, 34, of state Route 305, Cortland, was charged, accused of having stolen two Sony PlayStation controllers from Walmart.
