Fire destroys Forest Press building in NW Pa.
TIONESTA, Pa. (AP) — A fire has destroyed the offices of a weekly newspaper in rural northwestern Pennsylvania, but its editor says the newspaper will continue publishing as scheduled.
Kathy Culver is the editor of The Forest Press, based in Tionesta, about 80 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.
She says the newspaper office burned about 6 a.m. Monday, shortly after a car hit a utility pole which may have caused a problem with electrical wires leading to the building. Nobody was hurt in the blaze.
The newspaper is owned by publisher Mike Sample, who also owns The Titusville Herald, a daily newspaper also in northwestern Pennsylvania.
The Forest Press is setting up temporary office at the Titusville paper’s headquarters. Both newspapers are printed in Corry, another northwestern town.
Culver says The Forest Press will publish as scheduled on Wednesday.
