Players continues Halloween tradition

YOUNGSTOWN

The Victorian Players continues its Halloween tradition of presenting staged versions of classic Edgar Allan Poe tales. This season it will be “The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar” adapted by J.E.Ballantyne Jr., who is directing.

Playing M. Earnest Valdemar is Victorian veteran, Dave Wolford, and Miles Paul, making his Victorian Players debut, is Dr Pontier. Also in the cast are Brian Lee, C. Richard Haldi, Don Wolford, Liz Nalepa and Brandy Hughes.

The show opens Oct. 11 for three weekends. There will also be two midnight performances on Oct. 19 and 26. Other shows are at 7:30 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Adult tickets are $12 with student and senior tickets at $9. Group and student rates are available. Call 330-746-5455.

Get set for ‘Thriller’ dance with lessons

“Thriller” line-dance lessons will be offered at two locations.

One will be at the Free Mad Hot Monday Ballroom Boogie from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, at Kuzman’s Lounge, 1025 S. State St., Girard. The lesson will be led by Karen Elder’s Travelin’ Shoes Clogging Show Team followed by ballroom, Latin, swing and hustle until 9 p.m.
