Stage Left Players to present ‘Young Frankenstein’

Stage Left Players, 234 E. Lincoln Way, will present a musical adaptation of Mel Brooks’ classic comedy “Young Frankenstein” for three weekends, beginning Friday.

Craig Snay plays Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, who returns home to Transylvania Heights to claim his inheritance. His embarrassment over his family subsides during a hayride to the castle with his newly found sidekick, Igor, played by Michael Dempsey, and a seductive lab assistant, Inga, played by Anna Sturgeon.

Frankenstein meets the eccentric housekeeper Frau Blucher, with Patti L’Italien in the role. After reading his grandfather’s diary that hints at the possibility of life after death, Frankenstein decides to re-animate his monster, played by Vince Ward.

Comedy scenes from the 1974 film are recreated on stage, including the number “Puttin’ on the Ritz.”

Rounding out the cast of characters is Alison Flannigan, Will Flannigan, Tyler Stouffer, Jacob Ward, Nathan Kuhns, Ben Morgan, Jonathon Gant, Kathy Fawcett, Christina Fonner, Paige Johnson, Sydney Daily and Britny Hanes.
