YOUNGSTOWN
Edward Alan Moore, a Girard native, will give a free pipe-organ concert at 2 p.m. Sunday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 30 W. Front St.
Moore began his studies at Trinity UMC with Craig Medicus, and the first service he played was as a child at Christmas Eve. As a recitalist, Moore has played concerts at Washington National Cathedral. In 2004, he was the first organist to perform on the Millennium Stage concert series at the Kennedy Center. In 2008, Moore was the featured organist for the Bach Consort of Washington’s Christmas concert at National Presbyterian Church.
Moore, who has a bachelor’s degree from Grove City College, Grove City, Pa., earned a master’s degree in music from University of Illinois and a doctor of musical arts degree from Eastman School of Music. He is music director at East Liberty Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh.
