Cardinal Corner

Valued Canfield Residents,

It’s hard to believe that we are approaching December and snow showers have already come and reminded us that winter is quickly approaching.

The students and staff in the Canfield Local Schools are working hard to make this a Top Ten School District in all of Ohio.

Thank you to those parents who attended our district’s parent-teacher conferences. The staff was pleased to see all who attended and is looking forward to seeing more of you in the coming months. With your assistance, our youngsters will reach, and even surpass, their academic potential this school year.

At this time of the year, we enter a national season of giving thanks, a tradition proclaimed by George Washington in 1789. President Lincoln revived it and every president since has proclaimed a national day of Thanksgiving. In 1941, Congress established Thanksgiving as a national holiday.

I don’t know about you, but this is one of my favorite times of the year. During the holiday season, and especially on Thanksgiving, we focus on those things that mean the most in our lives. Take some time to enjoy life during this season. There are always plenty of things that can overshadow the joys of the Thanksgiving holiday, but we encourage you to put those things out of your mind and focus on the things that matter most and on the happiness of today.

Our district has many staff, groups, organizations, businesses and individuals we would like to extend a personal thank you to this Thanksgiving weekend. Thanks for your involvement, commitment, efforts and all of your contributions to this wonderful school system. We appreciate all you do and wish you a healthy happy weekend.

With Sincere Gratitude,

Alex G. Geordan, Superintendent
