Medical auxiliary will sell nuts

NEW CASTLE, PA.

Lawrence County Medical Society Auxiliary will sell pecans, almonds and cashews from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in the lobby of Jameson Hospital North Campus, 1211 Wilmington Ave.

Prices per pound are pecans, $11; cashews, $10; and almonds, $8. Recently, seven physicians’ wives sugared and spiced 36 pounds of pecans. Prices for those are either $8 or $5. Those who want to buy before or after the public sale may call Aleksandra Magda at 724-699-4733, Diane Marcella at 724-658-8662 or any auxiliary member.

Profits will be donated to the Jameson-sponsored Children’s Advocacy Nurse-Family Partnership and the Maternity Department of Ellwood City Hospital. Proceeds also will help fund the hand-washing program geared to young children.
