Grazed by bullet

youngstown

Police reports say a man’s ear was split in half after he was grazed by a bullet on the East Side on Monday afternoon.

Police were called to St. Elizabeth Health Center where Quashawn Robinson, 22, said he was standing on Truesdale Avenue and Shehy Street about 3 p.m. when someone fired a shot at him, and he was grazed by a bullet. He then said he ran to a home on North Truesdale Avenue and a friend there drove him to the hospital.

Police went to where Robinson said the shooting happened and could find no evidence of a shooting, reports said.

Indicted in assault

WARREN

Robert A. Prodnick Jr., 29, of 102 W. Liberty St. in Girard has been indicted on a misdemeanor assault charge in a Sept. 17 incident at the Wonder Bar on West Liberty Street in Girard.

Girard police charged Prodnick with causing serious injuries to Amos J. Gramelt, 29, of Beechwood Drive in Girard, at the bar.

Police said Prodnick was arguing with a woman before the assault, and Gramelt intervened on her behalf.

Gramelt’s injuries left him in intensive care at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Girard police said.

The case returns to Girard Municipal Court since the grand jury declined to indict Prodnick on any felonies.

Man arraigned in shooting incident

LIBERTY

A man who was charged with obstructing official business while police investigated a shooting appeared for arraignment in Girard Municipal Court on Tuesday.

Adham Aburahma, 18, of Trumbull Avenue did not enter a plea because the charge is a felony.

A date will be set for a preliminary hearing in the case.

His $7,500 personal-recognizance bond was continued.

A man in a minivan delivering newspapers on Belmont Avenue about 4:20 a.m. Nov. 20 told police he was shot at and an SUV had been following him, according to a police report.

Aburahma was driving the SUV, according to the report.

Aburahma’s store, Belmont Wireless, had been broken into about 2 a.m., according to a report.

Police began to pat down Aburahma when he pulled away and made a threatening statement, a report says. He was handcuffed, taken to the station and charged.

Police never found a weapon, though they did find a bullet hole in the driver’s side of the van.
