Dinner will honor slaying victim

A dinner in memory of David Perkins, 23, who was shot to death Oct. 28 on Youngstown’s South Side, is planned for 3 to 9 p.m. Dec. 5 at Refuge, 1155 Church Hill-Hubbard Road.

The spaghetti dinner costs $8 and includes salad and dessert. Also planned are a basket auction and performances by singers, dancers and bands. There will be a bake sale and pay-to-sing karaoke.

Proceeds will go to Refuge, a faith-based after-school program for youths. A fine and performing arts program is being planned.
