Niles woman accused of theft at Walmart

BOARDMAN — Boardman police arrested a 25-year-old Niles woman after Walmart accused her of felony theft.

Kayla Sweitzer of Royal Mall Drive is accused of stealing $1, 016.60 in merchandise from the store on Friday.

A loss prevention officer told police she witnessed Sweitzer select multiple items and attempt to walk out without paying for them.

Loss prevention told police A sweatshirt, 21 DVD movies and television series, food, shoes, a LED 32-inch television and PC valve equipment were the items Sweitzer attempting to steal.

Sweitzer was released from police custody on Friday on a bond.

Sweitzer’s arraignment is at 8:30 Tuesday in Mahoning County Court in Boardman.
