Stolen rental car sought

Boardman police are looking for a stolen rental car after a Youngstown resident reported it missing on Thursday.

The woman told police she rented a silver 2012 Chevrolet Malibu with Rhode Island plates from Enterprise Rent-a-Car on Market Street in Boardman. Her granddaughter decided to borrow the car after she rented it on Oct. 2.

The woman told her granddaughter to return the vehicle, but it was given to her granddaughter’s boyfriend to drive.

The woman told police her granddaughter and the boyfriend will not return the vehicle.

The woman went to pay the bill at Enterprise on Thursday and tell the company she no longer had the vehicle.

Police called the man accused of taking the vehicle and he told them he did not care if they issued warrants for his arrest.

The car was only rented for a month and has not been found or returned as of Thursday.
