POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Liberty Township:

Nov. 14

Citation: A traffic stop on state Route 193 led to a citation charging Summer E. Alderman of Idora Avenue, Youngstown, with having a suspected crack-cocaine pipe in a cigarette pack and a straw for snorting cocaine in a prescription bottle.

Nov. 15

Arrest: Police responded to possible gunshots in the 30 block of Fairlawn Avenue, where a woman reported a bullet had shattered her window, before charging 26-year-old Re’Yanna D. Simpson of 29 Fairlawn, Liberty, with receiving stolen property, endangering children and obstructing official business. After learning during their investigation that the shot had come from Simpson’s home, one of her children reported that contrary to her claim of having no firearm, he had accidentally fired a .40-caliber handgun, which police said had been stolen. The next-door neighbor was uninjured, and the boy was not charged, a report said.

Theft: A worker for a Motor Inn Drive motel reported an undisclosed sum of money was removed from a cash drawer.

Theft: A Tuttle Lane man reported prescriptions missing from a vehicle after his roommate had picked them up.

Harassment: A Townsend Avenue man said his former girlfriend has made and sent numerous unwanted calls and text messages.

Fraud: A Church Hill-Hubbard Road woman noticed three unauthorized charges to her bank account totaling $237.

Arrest: Officers near Sampson Drive pulled over and charged Michael P. Thompson, 25, of Beechwood Drive, Girard, with operating a vehicle impaired.

Theft: A man in a tan coat stole $60 worth of merchandise from Dollar General in the Liberty Plaza.

Trespassing: While responding to a disturbance in the 3000 block of Frederick Street, police charged 28-year-old Summer E. Jackson with criminal trespassing after saying Jackson, of Park Avenue, Youngstown, was on the property despite authorities having told her not to return.

Robbery: A man 160 to 180 pounds in a gray coat, dark hat and blue jeans robbed First Place Bank, 4682 Belmont Ave.

Arrest: A traffic stop on state Route 193 resulted in 38-year-old Tajuana R. Deleon’s arrest. The Columbus woman was accused of failing to appear in court on a felony forgery charge.

Drugs: Akira O. Jackson, 31, of Brentwood Avenue, Youngstown, faced a felony drug-possession charge after having been pulled over on Belmont Avenue. Jackson had what appeared to be three Percocet tablets in her pockets for which she admitted having no prescription, a report showed.

Theft: An attorney representing a Belmont Avenue restaurant-equipment business contended the building’s owner has refused to give $11,000 worth of equipment to its owner.

Nov. 16

Stolen property: Sheadrick Jones Jr., 52, of North Avenue, Youngstown, received a summons charging receiving stolen property after police said Jones was seen pushing a shopping cart near a Belmont Avenue gas station that contained about $100 worth of stolen merchandise from Big Lots, 3491 Belmont.

Nov. 17

Aggravated menacing: A Youngstown girl at a Colonial Drive apartment alleged that after having ordered food from a township Chinese restaurant, a 21-year-old delivery employee with whom she’s had ongoing problems revealed a handgun and threatened to shoot her.

Nov. 18

Fraud: A Warren man discovered $235 worth of unauthorized charges to his credit card had been made at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road.

Theft: A woman reported her daughter’s $600 iPhone stolen in the 1100 block of Church Hill-Hubbard Road.

Nov. 19

Arrest: Poland police handed Delbert R. Keller of Fifth Street, Niles, to township authorities. Keller, 39, was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant.

Theft: Authorities answered a call about a fight between three family members in the 3400 block of Belmont Avenue before taking into custody 56-year-old Anna M. Pilolli of Mansell Drive, Liberty, on a warrant charging theft.

Nov. 20

Breaking and entering: Someone broke into Belmont Wireless, 3100 Belmont Ave., through the front door, though police found no signs of forced entry. Several iPhones and iPad devices were taken, for an estimated loss of $5,600.

Arrest: After a minivan’s driver told police someone had shot at him near the Liberty Plaza, authorities charged 19-year-old Adham Aburahma of Trumbull Avenue, Liberty, with obstructing official business after saying he had pulled away from police as they searched him for weapons. A bullet hole in the minivan’s driver’s-side door and a 9 mm shell casing were found, though Aburahma had not been charged with shooting at the driver at the time of the report.
