Victim's family seeking witnesses in Ohio slaying

NORWOOD, Ohio (AP) — The family of a 20-year-old woman gunned down along with her boyfriend on a suburban Cincinnati street last weekend is pleading for witnesses to come forward.

Porshia Brooks died Tuesday at a hospital after the shooting Saturday night in Norwood. Her boyfriend, 21-year-old Aron Martin, also was shot during what police believe was a robbery attempt. He’s in critical condition.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that on the night of the shooting, a man walking down the road saw the wounded couple in a car and called 911.

Brooks’ family members had a news conference Wednesday to urge witnesses and the shooter to come forward.

Norwood police Lt. Tom Williams says the young people were “just in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
